MACCLESFIELD are bracing themselves for the departure of Paul
Ince.
Betting has already been suspended on the Moss Rose manager taking
over from caretaker boss Adrian Heath at Coventry.
Macc chairman Rob Bickerton who has seen the former Manchester
United ace take the Silkmen off the bottom of the League Two says:
"Paul and I had a very productive meeting and we are both firmly
focused on the MK Dons game in Saturday.
"We are both aware of Coventry's interest but Paul and I are more
concerned with our first priority which is to make sure
Macclesfield Town are safe.
"The same will be true for the next game and the next game after
that."
Coventry chief executive Paul Fletcher, reported to have been at
the Moss Rose on Saturday, said: "We have a short-list of 10, some
of whom are already serving managers and we will be going through
the proper due process."
Ince has said: "I am flattered by the attention of Coventry. The
club has a great history, and a great fan base and a great stadium,
but I will not be happy until Macclesfield Town are safe."
Arsenal legend Ian Wright, who spent a day working with Macc
strikers in November, says Coventry should snap up Ince sooner
rather than later.
