Macclesfield Town

Chester 0 Macclesfield 3

THE great escape could well be on for Paul Ince's Town!

Macclesfield climbed off the bottom of League Two with a comfortable 3-0 win at nearby Chester to continue their good run since the former United legend took the reins.

Matthew Tipton opened the scoring after being set-up by John Miles, but a scuffle between Town's Laurence Wilson and Chester's Jamie Tolley later saw both sides reduced to 10 men.

Ince's side wrapped up the win with a Kevin McIntyre free-kick and a John Murphy low drive.

A great away performance by a changed team who are inspired and a great deal fitter Paul Ince and Ray Mathias took the reigns. Teams who play us should look at our form rather than league position and at this rate who knows we may be play-off outsiders by the end of the season.

Look out Chelsea who are looking frail in defence without Terry!

The transformation is amazing. I really didn't think Ince would do it having never seen the attraction of him as a player but you can't deny it, a fantastic turnaround. I'm eating my hat - oh, and humble pie.

Chris, if Stockport's experience last year is a guide you will see teams believing they are playing playing the same Macc that they played first half of the season. I don't know why they find it hard to believe current form instead but it should be an advantage when you catch teams by surprise because of it.
