Macclesfield Town

Preview: Macc v Wycombe

MACCLESFIELD manager Brian Horton remains optimistic before Wycombe's visit.

Despite Macc's mediocre start to the season, Horton said: "We beat Wycombe twice last year and we can do it again."

Horton's mood was reinforced by the return to training of skipper David Morley, playmaker Martin Bullock and striker Matty McNeil, who both missed the defeats at Peterborough in League Two and Leicester in the Carling Cup last week.

Under new boss Paul Lambert, Wycombe have started well and will be keen to gain the promotion that they let slip last year.

Former Stockport striker Jermaine Easter is flowering and scored a hat-trick against Bury last Saturday.

Last season: Macc 2 Wycombe 1

Key opponent: Jermaine Easter - Confidence will be high after his hat-trick

Prediction: Macc 1 Wycombe 1

It's about time we beat Macclesfield. We've had an awful record against them recently. People moan about the 5-4 defeat we had at home to Macclesfield, but it was the only defeat last season that I can say I got any sense of enjoyment out of. I'd be well happy to see the same scoreline tomorrow, obviously in Wycombe's favour though!!
