MACCLESFIELD Town got off to the best of starts in their away friendly with Northwich on Saturday.

Within just three minutes Danny Whitaker had fired them ahead, and in an evenly-fought game Neil MacKenzie sealed the victory after the break.

Manager Brian Horton, who missed the game because of a family bereavement, is now looking forward to the clash with Premier League Wigan on Saturday.
