COLIN Garlick’s days at Macclesfield Town Football Club appear to be over.
It was confirmed to the Express yesterday [Tues] that Chief Executive Garlick had been notified of the likelihood that he will be made redundant.
In the meantime Garlick has been told not to report for work at the Moss Rose.
A popular figure around Macc Town, Garlick has been with the club since 1993 - during the last four-and-a-half years he was at the Moss Rose in a full-time capacity.
No-one was available for comment at Macclesfield Town on Tuesday, and Mr Garlick was similarly unavailable for comment.

this club is changing in many ways and many of these are not for the better. whoever makes the decisions never consider how much it will effect our feelings ...the fans. COLIN IS MTFC and I hope you can live with yourselves!
I tried speaking to someone regarding the story of Colin Garlick but was informed no one was available for comment. As a regular supporter of this club I find it difficult to understand why the powers that be should be so tight lipped and failing in their duty to keep the fans informed. They are quick enough to come forward when they require support or funds but tell us nothing when it comes to spending club money or the neverending jockeying for position in the board room. I like many others am very disappointed.
regards
Maurice Walker.
Who on earth is saying Mr M T F C {colin garlick } is being made redundant, this is ludicrous as he is a great ambassador for the club, he is VERY POPULAR, very respected hard working, the club will go down the pan without him, i hope the people who have made this decision look very closely as there isnt anybody who could take his place, i would have thought that by the macc express alone he is in there as often as NIC WINTERTON. GOOD LUCK COLIN WE ARE RIGHT BEHIND YOU
THIS CANNOT BE TRUE,REDUNDANT, HE DOES THE JOB OF 3 MEN,I HOPE THIS IS A JOKE,THE POPULAR COLIN GARLICK, NO WAY. HE HAS TO STAY, THE CLUB WILL SUFFER,TAKE HEED. ALL YOU WHO HAVE MADE THIS STATEMENT. BORING BICKERTON VERY BORING BICKERTON SHOULD BE SENT OFF FOR GOOD. GIVEN THE RED CARD.PLEASE TELL US THIS IS A JOKE. WE WANT SOME ANSWERS.
come on colin, tell us whats going on, how can they make you redundant, you are very highly thought of by ALL. why is everybody tight lipped about this comment. THIS STINKS,you are a great leader of macc town in fact you are M T F C and that is the feelings of all who know and love you, for all you do for ther club and the entirety of the community of macclesfield and beyond. give us some answers. the club will suffer if this is the case, perhaps mr boring bikerton can enlighten us?????????????????
WHAT PRICE LOYALTY?COLIN GARLICK HAS PUT MORE WORK INTO MACCLESFIELD TOWN OVER THE LAST 12 YEARS THAN ANYBODY.THE HOURS HE PUTS IN,MAINLY UNPAID,THE WAY HE STEADIED THE SHIP AS CHAIRMAN,DESERVE LOYALTY.
I wish to remain anonymous as i work at the club, but i will speak on behalf of everyone here{with the exception of a couple 2 of people} we are gutted by the way colin has been treated,we miss him and we know the fans do,stick in there col there is better for you out there, we are with you pal.
If ever there was an example of one person epitomising a football club, Colin is it. He has lived, worked and slept Macc Town, in both paid and unpaid capacities. Beyond the call of duty in this case, is an understatement.
For those of you with short memories, I can think of no more an eloquent example of his devotion than the article the Manchester Evening News ran on the day of the first derby between Macc Town and Man City. It was a comparison of the roles of Club Secretary in both football clubs. Only one of them had to be up early on the morning of the match as he had to work on a milk-round! It wasn't the guy based at Maine Road.
This selfless dedication to the club cannot be replaced. Loyalty like Colin's cannot be bought.
The fans of Macc Town deserve an explantion, and Colin, without doubt, deserved to be treated better.
