Macclesfield 2 Manchester City XI 1

Trial winger Matty Hamshaw’s dead-ball accuracy inspired Macclesfield to victory against a City XI.

The former Notts County man, who netted twice in the Silkmen’s midweek win at Newcastle Town, provided the ammo for two of his team-mates to head home.

Ten minutes in, summer signing Tyrone Barnett gave Macc the lead.

Hamshaw teased a free-kick across the face of goal and Barnett’s header gave City keeper Loris Karius no chance from close range.

But the lead lasted little more than two minutes as the quick feet of Omae Elabdellouai around the 18-yard line gave him the space to fire low into the far corner of Jose Veiga’s goal.

The hosts had much the better of the first-half and the impressive Hamshaw saw his free-kick evade Karius and Ryan McGivern, as well as Brisley, and sail narrowly wide.

With five minutes of the second-half played, another Hamshaw delivery put Macc ahead again, this time skipper Nat Brown the man finding the final touch.

When you do a match report is there any chance you could also show the team sheets plse as this smacks of lazy Journalism.

Our lads played some excellent football but were muscled off the ball at critical times by the experienced Macclesfield team.

With regard to TDPslick,Salford,I bought a programme for £1.50 which is the thinnest I've ever seen and it made no mention of any City players who appeared on the day.
