Macclesfield Town

Boston United 1 Macclesfield Town 1

FOR two minutes, it seemed that Macclesfield would maintain their 100 per cent record.

An otherwise ordinary battle was brought to life in the 79th minute when Mark Bailey headed across goal for John Parkin to head home his fifth of the season from eight yards.

But Boston responded immediately, former Notts Forest striker Jason Lee heading home even though he looked to be climbing over the Macclesfield defence as he converted the Tom Bennett corner.

Up until then it had been an ordinary game with Matthew Tipton going closer for Macclesfield as he saw a fierce low shot deflected inches wide in the 30th minute.

Boston however fluffed the clearest cut chance in the 74th minute when Paul Ellender headed wide with only the keeper to beat.

Moments later Thomas Rusk fluffed another sitter as Macc rode their luck.
