BRIAN Horton's Macclesfield Town squad warmed up for this week's pre-season Scottish tour with a 5-1 win over neighbours Congleton Town.

Matthew Tipton led the way with two goals while Martin Carruthers, Neil Ross and Danny Whittaker were also on target.

Macc play Clyde on Wednesday and face Dumbarton on Saturday.

Horton said: "I was able to give all the lads a run out against Congleton and they came through fine.

"We're looking forward to the matches in Scotland - they should be a good test."
