MACCLESFIELD will look to start the New Year as they finished the old one as former manager Sammy McIlroy brings his Morecambe side to the Moss Rose.

The Silkmen took one point from their Boxing Day fixture against Shrewsbury before thumping Crewe 4-1 in their last game of the decade.

And boss Keith Alexander may give striker Craig Lindfield his debut after the former Liverpool trainee's registration was delayed by the Premier League offices closing for Christmas.

Macc are showing signs of their potential but Alexander is looking for more in the second half of the season and he said: " There have been six or seven games where we've given points away."
