Alexander led Lincoln to four consecutive play-off appearances during his time in charge at Sincil Bank but he is hoping his current club can stretch their unbeaten league run to four games.
"I'm a professional football manager and I'm no more desperate to beat them than any other team. I just want our good form to continue," said Alexander.
Lincoln's new boss, Chris Sutton, who began his managerial term with victory over Aldershot last week, has full-backs Paul Green and Joe Heath, as well as centre-back Janos Kovacs, injured.
