The young prodigy is being headhunted by a host of Premier League and Championship clubs.
The 18-year-old brother of Manchester United's England star Wayne is making a name for himself and scouts from numerous clubs, including Bolton Wanderers and Blackburn Rovers, have been keeping tabs on his progress.
Rooney joined the Moss Rose academy after being released from Everton and, after impressing in the youth squad under the tutelage of John Askey and Mick Holgate, was given his debut by Keith Alexander.
"John is probably the best footballer at this club," said Alexander.
