The Silkmen earned the money-spinning clash at Moss Rose after a thrilling 3-1 win at Port Vale on Friday night.
Alexander said: "To get any top flight side is fantastic. To get one of the bigger ones is even better and the fact it is at home is great news for the fans."
And he urged TV bosses to bring their cameras down to Macc with the possibilty of a giantkilling.
"Looking at the draw you would also have to hope that we are in with a realistic chance of getting on the box," Alexander said.
"Whilst the temptation for the commerical channels will be always to look to the likes of United and Liverpool, hopefully they'll be looking down the list and trying to pick a potential upset.
"Our game has all the ingredients you would like.
"We've got a top flight team coming to a tight little ground with the lower league opposition fancying their chances.
"And whilst that may seem far-fetched, I don't see any reason why we shouldn't think we can pull off a result."
