Macclesfield Town

Macc 0 Gillingham 1

MACCLESFIELD Town suffered their third succesive league defeat courtesy of a early header from Gills striker Adam Miller.

He was left unmarked in the 15th muinute to power a firm downward header that bounched up off the six-yard line only for defender Izak Reid to send his attempted headed cleareance into the roof of the net.

Macclesfield were unlucky on the stroke of half-time when Francis Green turned sharply only to see his low drive cannon off the foot of the far post.

Sub Simon Yeo missed Macclesfield's best chance in the second half as he sliced wide with what was his first touch of the game.

Gillingham might have extended their lead at the death - Nicky Southall sliding a drive inches wide of the post and keeper Jon Brain making a stunning stop to deny Miller form 12 yards.
