Macclesfield Town

Preview: Macc v Lincoln

MACCLESFIELD Town are to appeal Gareth Evans' straight red card earned for what manager Keith Alexander termed a 50-50 challenge in Saturday's draw at Notts County.

But the 21-year-old striker still might not be fit for tonight's game with Lincoln City as his foot was injured in the collision.

Alexander said: "We've looked at the recording and if anything (Adam) Tann kicked Evans."

Lincoln's visit to the Moss Rose will be the first time Alexander has faced his old club.

He said: "There are no old scores to settle. I have many friends at Lincoln, but I want to win this game as much as any other."

Alexander will welcome back Danny Thomas, who missed the trip to the County Ground to be at the bedside of his wife, who was giving birth to their first child, a baby girl.

Terry Dunfield has come through a fitness test, so Alexander is likely only to draft in Thomas for Evans against a team which beat Chesterfield on Saturday.
