The Macc boss said: "A number of League Two teams are finding it easier to play away from home and it's because too many supporters are all too ready to have a go at individual players.
"I wouldn't mind, and supporters pay their money and have a right to have their say, but we were coming off the back off three successive wins."
The rout began as early as the 47th second when Macc's defenders watched Richard Logan hook a Matt Gill long throw onto the crossbar, Adam Stansfield the first to the rebound to crash home a six-yard volley.
Exeter extended their lead on 33 minutes through Ryan Hartley.
Macc hit back with Simon Yeo's fourth goal of the season but another goal from Stansfield and a late finish from Gill sealed the Silkmen's fate.
Alexander said: "We can't seem to win a game when we concede first."

I feel for Keith. I've always said the people of Macc dont deserve a league football team. Poor crowds and those who do support the team just moan. Pathetic.
