Ian Brightwell's men have not won at the Moss Rose since November 6 and yet another defeat sees them descend further into the relegation mire.
Once again their heads fell as they failed to capitalise on a succession of gift-wrapped chances ultimately presenting the Imps with a two-goal lead in the last 10 minutes.
Though Gareth Evans glanced home a late consolation header it was always going to be too little too late for the Cheshire team.
They were undone in the 81st minute when French 20-year-old striker Dany N'Guessan pounced beat the keeper with a clinical finish.
Their skipper Terry Dunfield then gave away the next goal as he played a pass into the path of Jamie Forester who gleefully buried a 20-yard drive.
The Silkmen had once again played some sweet-flowing football but with no end product - Francis Green missing two point blank chances.
The performance was met with a chorus of boos at the death with Brightwell facing a battle to keep his side afloat.
What do you think? Have your say.
