Macclesfield Town

MK Dons 1 Macc 1

DRAW specialists Macclesfield Town continued to inch their way to League Two survival by taking a vital away point off table-topping MK Dons.

Manager Ian Brightwell might be frustrated by 13 draws in the season but was happy to grab a point off former mentor Paul Ince.

It was another determined defensive display with new loan signings Ryan Cresswell and Neil Ashton outstanding at the back as MK became increasingly desperate.

The home crowd had the wind knocked out of them as early as the third minute when keeper Willy Gueret miskicked his clearance to Michael Symes. The on-loan striker reacted on instinct to send a first-time return into the top corner for his first goal of the season.

The Silkmen might have added a second through the unmarked Martin Gritton but after the break Sean O'Hanlon volleyed the equaliser as the Macc defence froze at a corner.
