Bury

Preview: Leyton Orient v Bury

CARETAKER boss Graham Barrow has been holding talks with Kevin Keegan to try to secure the services of Glenn Whelan for tomorrow's difficult trip to Leyton Orient.

The Manchester City youngster has impressed in two separate loan spells at Gigg Lane before playing in the World Under-20s Championship in Dubai.

But Barrow sees him as an ideal player to kick-start the Shakers' season after the off-field traumas of the past seven days, including manager Andy Preece's sacking.

"We've got to become a team that is harder to beat," said Barrow, who can expect help from reserves manager Andy Morrison. "So, we need to tighten up at the back.

"Players like Michael Nelson and Steve Redmond put their bodies on the line last season and that's what we've got to be prepared to do.

"It would be great to get Glenn back but maybe he's moved on since doing well for his country."

Lee Unsworth is rated 50-50 because of a groin injury but everyone else is available.
