DAVID Nugent epitomised Bury's fighting spirit against Third Division leaders Hull City less than a week after his season hit a new low.
Nugent was surprised as anyone to start his first game since September 13 after his car was involved in an accident with a French juggernaut last Thursday.
But after missing the 4-0 defeat by Oxford last Saturday, Nugent got his chance against Peter Taylor's Tigers.
And he responded with a man-of-the-match display as Bury had chances to halt Hull's 13-match unbeaten run.
"At the start of the season I admit I wasn't playing my best," agreed Nugent.
"I was low on confidence and the gaffer said he would leave me out for a couple of games. I just need a goal now and hopefully I can get one at Darlington on Saturday."
Has Nugent got a big future? Have your say.
