THEIR respective failures to progress from the play-off semi-finals last season seemed to leave both clubs with a hangover on the opening day of the new term last Saturday.

But both sides will look to get their season off and running at Gigg Lane on Saturday.

"Getting the first result is important," agreed manager Andy Preece.

"Even just getting one point will be vital just to stop the run.

"We were all disappointed at Tranmere but if we had to lose I'm glad it was in normal time."

With the exception of long term casualty Terry Dunfield, Preece is able to select from a full squad.
