BURY hope to save their best until last by collecting their first win of the holiday programme at Gigg Lane on New Year's Day.

The Shakers are expecting their biggest crowd of the season - in excess of 6,000 - for the visit of Peter Taylor's Tigers and plan a performance to match.

Andy Preece's team has picked up just two points out of a possible nine.

Lenny Johnrose is "touch and go" with a hamstring problem while Paul O'Shaughnessy or Martyn Forrest could replace injured Terry Dunfield.

Preece's biggest dilemma is whether to start with super sub David Nugent in a more attacking line-up as Bury search for more goals.

Preece may decide to promote Nugent from the bench for himself after admitting to a below-par display against Kidderminster.
