TOP scorer Jon Newby is Bury's main concern as they bid for a fourth successive league and cup win at Scunthorpe.

Newby tweaked his knee in the 2-0 LDV Vans Trophy victory over Tranmere in midweek and was taken off as a precaution.

However, the Shakers' eight-goal marksman should be fit along with player-boss Andy Preece, who has been struggling with a groin injury. Michael Nelson, Steve Redmond and Chris Billy, rested for the Rovers game, should return.

"We will have to be at our best because Scunthorpe are not a bad side and are sneaking up the table," says Preece.

Bury resume their league programme after a two-week break handily placed in fifth position.

KEY OPPONENT: Former Aston Villa front man Martin Carruthers.

LAST SEASON: Different divisions.

PREDICTION: Scunthorpe 1 Bury 1.
