AGE: 24
POSITION: Centre Forward
CLUB: Bury
DO I RATE HIM:
He's a talented player who has shown a lot of potential in the past due to his pace. He has the ability to play at a higher level.
TALENT LEVEL: He has always had the pace and ability to threaten defenders and produce top performance.
FIRST IMPRESSION: No frills about this fellow - first spotted him as a youngster and instantly impressed with his speed and ability to take on defenders.
SPEED: Has to be one of his biggest assets - a factor about his game which catches the eye wherever he plays.
BUILD: Slim, good weight for a footballer and is quick but tends to be knocked off the ball at times.
SKILL LEVEL: Quite high. Has a decent first tough and is predominantly right sided. Dribbling and beating players is his strength.
DEFENSIVE ABILITY: This aspect of his game has definitely improved - he is now prepared to track back, cover and help his defence.
PASSING: He started out at Liverpool and picked up good habits - passing is certainly suitable for the level he is at.
HIS SUPPORT PLAY: Mainly an up the middle player who plays off the shoulder of defenders - makes intelligent runs and movement good - this also comes from time at Liverpool.
TEMPERAMENT: Seems to be fine. His attitude towards the game is good - I haven't seen anything in him to worry me.
WEAKNESS: He is not great in the air and is very much a centre forward who relies on the deck. Could also be stronger on his left side.
AERIAL ABILITY: I'd say limited - its not great it needs to be worked on and it can be improved.
TRADEMARK: Pace and movement - he is a front man who can cause defenders problems with his ability to run at them.
GOAL RATIO: Not prolific playing 46 games last year shows terrific consistency and excellent fitness but seven goals is not good enough. I am pleased to say its already much better this season.
BEST POSITION: Centre forward playing up the middle but vital players around him play to his strengths and provide right kind of service.
WOULD I BUY HIM?: He can step up the ladder - if he scores 14 or 15 goals this season a first division team may take a chance - its all about his goal return.
WHO CAN HE BE COMPARED TO: He has pace but I've been racking my brains trying to make a comparison and can't at this stage.
INDIVIDUAL OR TEAM PLAYER: Over the years he learned to be more of a team player - obviously you have to be part of a team when playing for Bury.
SUMMARY: He had to bide his time before taking a step forward. Leaving a club like Liverpool can be tough. Playing 46 games last year is a tremendous boost for his self confidence and if he continues to improve his goal return his career can take a forward step - he has the talent.
