VETERAN defender Chris Brass faces a late fitness test on a groin injury to see if he can travel with Bury to Chester City tomorrow.

But star midfielder Richie Baker is eligible to play, despite picking up his fifth yellow card in Saturday's 4-0 home defeat to Peterborough United.

Baker will miss Saturday's match, but his inclusion in the team is a welcome boost for boss Chris Casper as his side, without a win in their last 10 games, try to pull away from the drop zone.

Meanwhile, 19-year-old Marc Pugh has revealed his decision to reject a new two and a half year deal is not financially motivated.

"I've never once said I'm going to reject a contract with Bury. I have just not accepted the offer which has been made to me," he said.

"I've enjoyed my time at the club and I hope to sign when the deal is right."
