BURY can look forward to a third round home clash with Ipswich in the New Year after coming from behind to score a convincing FA Cup replay win.

Chris Casper's men recovered from an awful start to triumph with goals from Andy Bishop, Glenn Hurst and Dwayne Mattis.

And yet victory looked highly unlikely for the Shakers early on, as they were completely overrun for the first quarter of an hour.

Chester went in front after just three minutes, when former Everton trainee Laurence Wilson danced past Chris Brass and Dave Challinor before drilling a shot past keeper Alan Fettis into the corner. With Roberto Martinez pulling the strings in midfield and Jon Walters and Gregg Blundell dominant up front, the Shakers were struggling.

And Fettis, playing his first game in goal for Bury since breaking his arm in September, was helpless as Walters volleyed against his left-hand post from a beautifully weighted Martinez pass.

But that let-off seemed to galvanise the Shakers, and they drew level nine minutes before the break.

Perfect

Hurst latched on to Marc Pugh's through ball down the right, and Bishop headed in his perfect cross from six yards for his 13th goal of the season.

Fettis then had to react smartly to tip over David Artell's header from Stephen Vaughan's free kick, but the game turned on two Bury goals in the opening 10 minutes of the second half.

In the 49th minute, Hurst headed in his second goal in two games from Pugh's right-wing cross to put the visitors in front.

And six minutes later, the Shakers had effectively booked a place in Round Three, when Chester failed to clear David Buchanan's cross from a short corner, and Mattis drilled a low left-footed shot past keeper John Danby.
