BURY boss Chris Casper was fuming after suffering alleged verbal abuse as he walked off at the end of his side's surprise defeat against Bristol Rovers.
Two people reportedly shouted abuse at Casper from the direction of the Gigg Lane directors' box at the end of Saturday's game.
But despite seeing his side surrender their six-match winning run in League Two, Casper felt that his side had done enough to win by half-time.
Rovers keeper Steve Phillips made several great saves to deny Bury, before late goals from Lewis Haldane and Richard Walker decided the game.
Devastated
"Steve Phillips produced a string of excellent saves," said Casper. "But we didn't put away our chances, and we got punished for it. We understand why people will be disappointed with that defeat, but the players were down after the match. They were absolutely devastated.
"I thought we could have been 3-0 up at half-time. But you're not going to win every game."
Phillips kept out Jake Speight's fierce left-foot shot in the second half, but Haldane then scored from Ryan Green's cross, before Walker's late goal sunk Bury.
Meanwhile, David Flitcroft has parted company with Bury after reaching a mutual agreement to cancel his contract.
Flitcroft, last season's player of the year, made 108 appearances and scored four goals since joining from Macclesfield in February 2004.

who the hell is surprised? let's be fair, in our 'fantastic' run, we have spent more time defending then anything else (anybody go to Notts County or Rochdale??) and we were holding on at Macclesfield and at home against Boston and against Wrexahm we were hardly on top for any length of time. We got lucky again at Weymouth when we hardly looked like getting an equaliser. We've had a good run of luck which sort of balanced out the bad ref decisions against Barnet and Accrington and probably leaves us with a worry free last half of the season, but you never know. This also brings to light the fact that beyond the excellent Hurst, we have no offensive back up. A great chance for Speight which he didnt take, ok the keeper has made a great save but Speight hasnt really made any other telling contributions. All in all - just one of those games that come around in this division, just thank god it wasnt Boston. Bristol remain a bogey side for us.
casper has done a great job, lets just go for the play offs now. get paul ince and teddy sheringham in in summer i think casper could.
