Bury

Bury 1 Chester City 3

BURY slipped to their second defeat in four days after a comedy of errors.

New loan signing Jon-Paul Pittman cancelled out Colin Woodthorpe's first-half own-goal as the Shakers battled for their first points of the season.

But a dreadful mix-up between skipper Dave Challinor and new keeper Alan Fettis gifted Jon Walters a simple goal early in the second half.

As Bury pushed for an equaliser they were caught on the counter and Walters again made them pay with a clinical injury-time finish.

However, if had not been for a string of superb saves from Fettis, Bury could have been on the end of a much bigger defeat.

The former Macclesfield shot-stopper produced three fingertip saves, twice denying Walters and then blocking Dave Artell's powerful header.

Dwayne Mattis fired over for Chris Casper's side and substitute Marc Pugh forced Chester keeper John Danby to make a smart save from distance midway through the second half, but the home side were always second best.

What do you think? Have your say.

Open letter to Chris Casper:
Mr Casper, the following players contracts should be cancelled: Fettis, Adams, Mattis, Barry-Murphy and Goodfellow. I have a season ticket but will not be attending any further games until players show some interest and commitment. All pre-seaon optimism has now gone and last night's display was as bad as it has been, even with Barrow in charge. It will not be long until the strikers eagerness evaporates. Quite how Adams was prefererd to Pugh is beyond me. Needs to change now whilst we have a slim chance of League football next year.

That performance was an absolute disgrace and the players should make a public apology before the next game to the few bury fans who turned up. as for Fettis, he has made mistakes in both games costing us two goals and points. we are not favourites to go down for nothing and the bookies will stop taking bets soon. as for barrow, does he have anything to do with chesters tactics as when he was at bury we endured countless away games and played nothing like as positive as chester.
