BURY boss Chris Casper hasn't ruled out the possibility of bringing City keeper Kasper Schmeichel back to Gigg Lane.

Schmeichel spent a successful loan spell with the Shakers at the end of last season, playing a vital part in the club's successful battle against relegation.

But Casper might have to act fast after releasing both Neil Edwards and Craig Dootson on Monday.

"I wouldn't say no completely to Kasper coming back," said Casper. He did a great job for us, but I know City want to see what their situation is in pre-season and we really need to act before then."

Signings

Bury have already brought in free-scoring Andy Bishop from York City on a two-year contract and Casper promises there are more on the way.

"I've made my intentions clear by signing Bishop," he added. "We simply didn't score enough goals last season and he has a great record. I've also got a couple more players lined up."

Bury also released strikers Jon Newby and Steve Burke along with Russell Hitchen and Vassos Theophanous.

Meanwhile, striker Matthew Tipton is ready to sign a new one-year deal that should end speculation about a return to Macclesfield.
