Andy Preece's side aim to bounce back from their midweek defeat at Bristol Rovers by bringing down the third division leaders at Gigg Lane.

Hartlepool have lost just once, but arrive without star striker Gordon Watson who broke his leg last weekend. However a win over Lincoln City on Tuesday suggests they can overcome his loss.

"It will be a tough game but it gives us a chance to get another run going," said defender Danny Swailes.

Gareth Seddon's two goals for the reserves may win him a place in the squad though teenage striker David Nugent did well when he came on against Rovers.

George Clegg is the main injury concern while Matt Barrass comes back into contention after being rested at Bristol.
