Preece calls for good turn-out

BURY boss Andy Preece has issued a rallying call for fans to get down to Gigg Lane for the next two games.

The Shakers are set for a visit from high-flying York tonight (Friday) and Preece is hopeful it will sufficiently whet the appetite of supporters to ensure a good attendance.

"It should be a great game and hopefully one the fans will want to come down and see," Preece told the Bury Times.

With Preece hoping to hang on to loan signings Terry Dunfield and Pawel Abbot for longer, he is acutely aware that finances will play a big factor, hence the need for a good turnout tonight and on Tuesday for the Worthington Cup clash with Stoke City.

"It would be magnificent if we could get around 4,000 for the next two matches," he added.

"Both are big games, but matches we can win. I just hope the public of Bury can respond and we can put in a performance for them."
