BURY boss Andy Preece is hoping to benefit from Manchester City's surplus of quailty.
Blues boss Kevin Keegan has more talented players than teams to play them in and that could work to Preece's advantage.
Certainly Terry Dunfield required no second bidding when the Shakers expressed an interest in taking the young Canadian midfielder on loan.
Improved display
And it was no fluke that Bury's best display of the season coincided with Dunfield's debut against Swansea last Saturday.
The 20-year-old added plenty of guile and craft to the Bury engine room as Preece's youngsters secured a badly needed 3-2 victory.
Dunfield comes to Gigg Lane for a month but there's every chance that may be extended, if it suits all parties.
There appears little prospect of the Vancouver-born starlet breaking into Keegan's first team while he's odds on to feature in Preece's starting line-up in the coming four weeks.
Dunfield admits his first love will always be City and he'd love nothing more than to become a fixture in the senior team. But just as the likes of Chris Greenacre, now with Stoke City, and Aberdeen marksman Leon Mike, re-launched their careers away from Maine Road, Dunfield and other Blues youngsters may have to do the same.
'Good experience'
"The manager felt it would be good experience for me to come to Bury and I didn't have to think twice about the move," agrees Dunfield. "When the opportunity came up it sounded really good. Initially, I'm here for a month then we'll have to see what happens after that.
"They're a great bunch of lads and I've played against most of them in the reserves.
"There was a great buzz before the Swansea game which I've not had before. And to come out and win the match like we did was fantastic.
"I'm definitely going to enjoy this month here though I think ultimately my goal would be to get back in the City first team if possible."
