Barrow: Performance was unacceptable

BURY boss Graham Barrow has blasted his players and warned another bad performance is unacceptable after their 4-0 hammering from Wycombe.

Wycombe put four past Bury without reply on Saturday and Barrow once again found himself apologising to the fans for the performance of his team.

And he has made clear to the Shakers' players that another performance like those the fans have endured recently will not be tolerated.

"This performance cannot happen again, it's as simple as that," he told Bury's official website.

"Its very difficult not to rant and rave at them in the dressiing room.

"I know it's my job as manager to lift them, but we have to point out to them a few things.

"We've been here before, I'm not a quitter and we just have got to get on with it."

He added: "The fight and spirit that we had at the end of last season isn't there.

"It's disappointing to me that I have to get across that fight and spirit to the new players and they need to know exactly what I am looking for, because obviously it's not good enough."

What did you make of the performance? Have your say.

Why is it that Bury fans don't ever comment on their team? Are there actually any Bury fans out there who read MEN. I know that at least 2000 of you support your team (or so I've been told) so at least one of you must have an opinion on your club. Perhaps one of you could just post something to demonstrate you actually read these stories. "Hello! is there anybody out there!!!"

In response to 'fred' there are some of us Bury Fans out there albeit not many. Perhaps we would have a lot more if the people in our town weren't all glory hunters supporting man u!!!!!. I would bother to comment more on here but the chances are nobody would read it. As for the team , we've started badly but we'll reach the play offs, I hope!

Thanks Paul, Bury. Take your point about 'brand' football seducing the masses. I noted your results in the league tables, but as we both know, a two games league table means nothing in terms of a season. Now I have more disposable income, I might be partisan and take in the odd Bury game myself! But even if I don't, I will be spending money at Gigg lane, which will help augment the finances of Bury F.C.. Best of luck for the new season.
