Scunthorpe 1 Bury 3

Bury came from a goal down to defeat former boss Alan Knill's Scunthorpe side at Glanford Park.

The Iron were ahead early when Shane Duffy glanced home and Bury were on the back foot throughout the half. Scunthorpe hit the bar and Shakers keeper Cameron Belford kept the visitors in the game.

After the break it was a different story.

The dangerous David Amoo won a free-kick and with everyone expecting a ball to the far post,  a well worked free-kick between Steven Schumacher and Peter Sweeney saw the latter fire home.

With their confidence back Bury pressed forward and they were soon ahead. Mike Jones won the ball in an attacking position and cut it back for Andy Bishop to score.

The win was sealed when, after Amoo had won another free-kick, Efe Sodje scrambled the ball home.

Great scoreline for the Shakers for obvious reasons. For a team with such sparse support and run on a comparative shoestring, they are accomplishing fantastic results. Just reward for the Bury faithful few and a shining example of the joys of being a football supporter outside of the premier league. It is so easy for people living in the Bury area to jump on the City or United glory train, but these fans get a special satisfaction in supporting their local team.

Here here Billy i echo your thoughts on this theme.Get behind your home town club not behind some glory team who's bankrolled by an arab family.City have no soul and if the investors pull out will be in a right sorry mess since they don't own their stadium.
