Instead, the duo's future is just as uncertain as anyone else's at Gigg Lane because of the on-going financial problems at the club.
If they can be resolved then the least manager Barrow deserves is an extension to his contract.
So, the former Chester, Wigan and Rochdale chief was bemused to be informed last Saturday that he had already put pen to paper on a new deal.
Writing in his programme notes, Boston counterpart Steve Evans said: "I read that Graham Barrow has just extended his contract and this has occurred because he has done a superb job at Gigg Lane."
And while nobody would argue with the sentiment, Barrow dismisses Evans' claims.
"I don't know where he got that from," admits the Shakers boss. "I just wish it was true. "It's certainly not true and I haven't heard anything from the club."
