Nugent completes Preston deal

PRESTON have completed the signing of Bury striker David Nugent on a three-and-a-half year deal.

The 19-year-old, who was also being chased by Burnley, Crewe, Sheffield United, Scunthorpe and Chester, moves for an undisclosed six-figure fee, which will be a major financial boost for the cash-strapped Shakers.

The fee was agreed last week but talks over personal terms broke down on Friday.

However, North End manager Billy Davies and chairman Derek Shaw reached agreement with Nugent's representatives and he will now challenge Richard Cresswell and Patrick Agyemang for a first-team place.

Were Bury right to sell Nugent? Have your say.
