FA Cup: Bury 0 Leyton Orient 0

BURY squandered a glorious opportunity to beat Leyton Orient as Danny Swailes' missed penalty cost the Shakers dear.

Swailes failed to convert from the spot after ten minutes after Chris Porter was fouled in the box by Orient defender John Mackie.

But Bury carved out chance after chance, but failed to convert after a series of good chances, the best of which fell to prize striker David Nugent who saw a second half effort cleared off the line shortly after the hour mark.

Bury had the better of the chances and the cash-strapped home side looked full of energy and the most likely to score.

Unfortunately Orient shot-stopper Lee Harrison produced a string of good saves and the woodwork also denied the home side their first win in eight League and Cup outings.

But much more worrying for the Shakers is that Graham Barrow's team have failed to score in 401 minutes of football.
