IT'S not just England who have exclusive rights on throwing away 2-0 leads with minutes to go.

Bury looked equally adept at pushing the self-destruct button as they drew 2-2 with Shrewsbury.

Coasting towards victory with Glynn Garner only having had one notable save to make, the Shakers gifted the Shrews an unlikely point.

Just as Sven's men did in Austria, Bury conceded a needless free-kick that led to the home side's first goal from Darren Moss.

And they'd barely recovered from the disappointment when Danny Swailes headed an own goal from John McGrath's in-swinging corner.

It was hard luck on Swailes who, along with Dave Challinor, had policed danger man Luke Rodgers so well.

It was certainly galling for the likes of Dwayne Mattis and Dave Flitcroft who had been outstanding in midfield.

Bury cried out for a goal scoring midfielder last season and have found one in ex- Huddersfield man Mattis.

They've also got a striker in David Nugent who scores regularly, though his sixth of the season after 54 minutes should have been a match winner.

"One thing we have learned this season is that we are being a little naive," says manager Graham Barrow.

"And we've got to cut it out. We do things on the training pitch, we've had them watched and we know how they play.

"But we still couldn't finish the job."
