However, the move comes as no surprise as Duxbury, 35 next month, has become a fringe member of the first team squad.
The former Rochdale, Oldham and Bradford City player wasn't even among the substitutes last week. And in order to bring new players in, manager Graham Barrow has to trim down his squad accordingly.
Duxbury, brought to Gigg Lane by Andy Preece, had hoped to become involved on the coaching side. But with Preece's departure and the arrival of Kelham O'Hanlon, it became obvious the former Shakers' skipper would become surplus to requirements.
Meanwhile, striker Graeme Jones faces more frustration after suffering a recurrence of a calf injury.
The former Wigan favourite is expected to be out of action for at least 10 days.
Things have turned sour for Jones since an encouraging pre-season and a goal on his debut against Yeovil Town.
And manager Graham Barrow says: "He's finding it hard going." Tweet

I'm delighted that Duxbury has signed for Nationwide North club Harrogate Town (my side). I'm sure his experience will prove priceless to us in our bid for success. Cheers Bury
