Porter rues missed chance

CHRIS Porter's first goal of the season earned 10-man Bury a 1-1 draw against Chester at Gigg Lane.

The Shakers' hitman grabbed a 59th-minute equaliser and then saw team-mate Colin Woodthorpe sent off for the second time this campaign.

But Porter felt it was a case of two points dropped. "We should have won," he said. "We had enough chances."

Porter got on the end of Lee Unsworth's low cross after a poor clearance from City keeper Wayne Brown.

He added: "It was a great cross. For the first 10 minutes my touch had been awful and I thought it was going to be one of those games. But I started to play better and was getting into some good positions."

The striker might have had a second but Phil Bolland appeared to handle his goal-bound effort as Bury surged forward looking for a winner.

"It was going in and it definitely hit his hand," said Porter.

Michael Branch had handed Chester the lead on 22 minutes.
