DAVE Challinor has given manager Graham Barrow a timely boost by declaring himself fit to face Yeovil at Gigg Lane tomorrow.

The former Tranmere and Stockport centre half has been troubled by a strained abductor muscle.

And Barrow feared he would lose Challinor for the visit of the Glovers as well as long-term injury victim, Danny Swailes.

The Shakers' new club captain said: "I've trained for the last week though the gaffer didn't want to risk me in our last pre- season game against Stalybridge. I'm probably not totally match fit but at this stage not too many players are."

KEY OPPONENT: Bartosz Tarachulski - Polish striker signed in the summer who has looked good in pre-season.
