Knill frustrated with slack Shakers

BURY boss Alan Knill called for his players to make immediate improvements after this latest setback.

The Shakers conceded three goals for the second successive away game with two of those from defensive errors.

Bury created chances at the other end and could have taken all three points if Daniel Nardiello and Andy Morrell had been more clinical.

Bury slipped to ninth in the table to Knill's obvious frustration and he said: "We didn't take our chances. They deserved it and were better than us in both boxes.

"You just can't do it if you want to be at the top. You can't give away three goals when you come away."

Dagenham's first goal came on 18 minutes when Efe Sodje's attempted clearance hit Ben Futcher and fell to Paul Benson, who poked the ball home.

Bury improved as the half went on with Nardiello twice flufflng chances before fortunately seeing his header deflect off a defender and into the net at the end of the first-half.

The goal lifted both sides, who between them produced a thrilling second-half full of end-to-end football with Nardiello hitting the crossbar and Morrell squandering a clear chance.

But it was the home side who were more ruthless with Benson grabbing his second after 78 minutes before on-loan Chelsea defender Nana Ofori-Twumasi scored in injury time.

BURY: Brown, Buchanan, Futcher, Dawson, Barry-Murphy, Racchi (Jones 61), Sodje, Morrell, Worrall, Newey, Nardiello (Lowe 73). Not used: Belford, Scott, Barker, Thompson.
