With influential on-loan midfielder David Worrall (hamstring) also out for three weeks Knill has been searching for reinforcements, but he said: "The chances are slight. We're hoping to get a player in. He's a striker and he's from our league."
Despite the injury crisis, Bury are on an eight-match unbeaten run that has lifted them to within three points of League Two's automatic promotion slots.
Knill added: "We just tell the players to go out and express themselves and to give their best. It's a tough game, they are a physical side but it's up to us to be at our best."
