The Shakers ended a run of four straight defeats with victory at Port Vale last week and Knill said: "At Port Vale we got that bit of luck which we haven't been getting at Gigg Lane. There is not much difference between how we are playing home and away and it's often a matter of luck. It was a big relief to win and now we have to reproduce it at home."
Striker Andy Morrell has return to training following an ankle injury but will be out for another week while keeper Wayne Brown is one of four players nominated for the PFA's Player of the Month award for August/September.
Ryan Cresswell is suspended for the game after his red card at Vale, while Mike Jones is hoping to play despite aggravating an ankle injury.
