BURY boss Alan Knill has moved swiftly to replace the injured Danny Carlton by bringing in Sheffield United forward Jordan Robertson.

Robertson is on loan until January 3 and goes straight into the squad for Saturday’s trip to the Darlington Arena.

Robertson has had a number of loan spells over the past couple of campaigns with Torquay United, Northampton Town, Oldham Athletic, Dundee United, Southampton and Ferencvaros.

Carlton is facing a four to six-month spell on the sidelines after rupturing his Achilles tendon in Tuesday's 2-0 Carling Cup defeat to West Brom while Andy Morrell and Andy Bishop are still a few weeks away from being able to return to first team action after hernia operations.

It leaves Robertson, Ryan Lowe and rookie Domaine Rouse as the only fit strikers for the trip to Darlington.
