ALAN Knill has urged Bury to show no festive spirit towards Darlington on Boxing Day.

Bury remain second in League Two despite Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Bournemouth, although victory at Gigg Lane would send seventh-placed Darlo above the Shakers.

"It'll be a tough game but they'll probably be saying the same about coming to Bury," Knill said.

"It's our job to make it that for them, and hopefully it's a better performance than what we put in against Bournemouth.

"Fortunately it is a big game for us so we should be more competitive than that and hopefully we can get back to winning ways.

"That would be a terrific boost as we've got another two important games coming up (at Shrewsbury and league leaders Wycombe)."

Brian Barry-Murphy will return if he shakes off a back problem in time.
