BURY boss Alan Knill has warned his side against complacency after Bury's best league start in 51 years.
The Shakers make the short trip to Spotland with three wins out of three in League Two, but Knill has challenged his players to rise to the derby occasion and make it four from four.
He said: "If someone said you're going to have nine points after three games, we'd have taken it. We're delighted.
"But when people are patting you on your back it's time you've got to be on your guard.
"Sometimes egos run away and you think you might be better than you actually are, so we have to remind ourselves why we've won three games and what we have to do to make it four. It's a big game and the last derby was probably the best game since I've been here.
"We don't play in front of many full houses and when you do it's up to us to go and entertain and show what we are."
Bury have no new injury problems and are likely to go with an unchanged line-up.
Rochdale will be looking for revenge after they were beaten twice in the space of four days on home turf by their arch-rivals last year, suffering a 2-1 loss in the league before crashing out of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy 3-1.
Manager Keith Hill came under fire from a section of Dale supporters in the wake of those results, though his side went on to reach the League Two play-off final at Wembley.
He knows how much these derby games mean to the Spotland faithful, but insists little is decided on the outcome of such clashes.
"I've always been aware of how much the fans want to beat Bury, but for me there has to be thought in everything we try to achieve, and sometimes supporters don't use their brains," he said.
"Bury have had a terrific start to the season. They have recruited well in the summer and Alan Knill is a very good manager. It's going to be a difficult game but it's a challenge we will accept readily."
Young defenders Nathan D'Laryea and Raphale Evans are unlikely to feature as they recover from knocks but otherwise Hill has a full quota to select from, including new signing Mark Jones, who could make his debut on the right of midfield.
