The 19-year-old became a fans' favourite at Gigg Lane during a three- month loan spell from Wolves last term and rejoined the Shakers this week on a six-month deal.
Bennett impressed in Tuesday's 2-1 defeat by Sheffield United and the Bury faithful showed just what they think of the exciting winger, giving him a standing ovation both following the warm-up and when he was substituted.
"The lads gave me a bit of stick for that but it was all in good jest!" he admitted.
"That's one of the reasons I came back - ever since I came here last year I felt wanted. The lads took me in, the gaffer's put faith in me, and hopefully I can repay him again this season.
"I went back to Wolves and think I gave a good account of myself, but coming back here on loan is only going to benefit me further.
"I'm very happy to be back but my aim is to play for Wolves and if the gaffer can help me, that wwill be great."
Shakers boss Alan Knill is certainly glad to have Bennett back - and not just for his fearless runs.
"Elliott gives us an outlet that we haven't had in pre-season," he said. "He gives us unbelievable pace and he's direct.
"But just as a lad, taking away what he does with the ball, he's fantastic. His personality is one that you just want around. It doesn't matter what you ask him to do, he'll do it."
