CENTRE-BACK Ryan Cresswell has joined Bury on a free transfer from Sheffield United.
The 20-year-old was close to joining Hungarian team Ferencváros but has opted to sign a two-year contract at Bury.
Cresswell began his League Two stint last season, when he played a total of 24 games on loan with Rotherham, Morecambe, and also Macclesfield, for whom he scored his first goal.
Meanwhile, the Shakers won a behind-closed-doors friendly against Stockport 3-1 on Friday morning with Andy Bishop, Stephen Dawson and trialist Phil Marsh on target.
