NEW Bury boss Alan Knill knows he faces a battle to get quality loan players into Gigg Lane.

Knill believes the Shakers need experienced players to fight a relegation battle made increasingly difficult by Tuesday night's 3-2 home defeat by Stockport County.

"We will have to change it around quickly," said Knill, who took over as Bury manager on Monday.

"Hopefully we can bring some players in, and that usually gives a boost to the squad.

"But they have to be a better quality than we have got already.

"That's easier said than done.

"The worse the results get, the harder it is to get the players you want because they don't want to come.

"We've been working since Monday trying to get some people lined up.

"We need some bodies in just to give the squad a boost and to hopefully add some quality."
