BURY'S caretaker boss Chris Brass didn't let the postponement of Saturday's derby against Stockport County deprive him of a game.

Instead Brass, who would have taken charge of the Shakers for the first time in the league on Saturday, put on his boots and turned out for Hyde United against Alfreton Town.

Brass is still a registered player for the Tigers, who allowed him to take the caretaking role at Gigg Lane after the exit of Chris Casper.

Unfortunately for Brass and Hyde they ended up 2-0 losers.

Brass has a second chance of a first league game as Bury caretaker tomorrow night when Bradford City are due to visit Gigg Lane.
